JBE attends NSMMS Symposium for the second year in a row

JBE returned as an exhibitor to the National Space & Missile Materials Symposium (NSMMS) for the second year in a row. This year, NSMMS was held in Westminster, CO, June 22-23. NSMMS is a great opportunity for us to connect with other companies and people who are innovators and creators in the aerospace industry. This year, NASA asked JBE to create a model of our Flexible Thermal Protection System (F-TPS) for their Hypersonic Inflatable Aerodynamic Decelerator (HIAD) mini model. It was displayed at NASA’s booth during NSMMS symposium, and NASA plans to bring it to other events such as the Game Changing Development Technology Day and CAMX so people can get an up close and hands on experience with HIAD. Check out the video below and watch our engineers fabricate the model F-TPS. https://www.jacksonbondllc.com/jbeWordpress/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/F-TPS-Model-Fabrication.mp4 JBE highlighted our thermal protection system and thermal seal capabilities at NSMMS. We continue to innovate, improve, and refine our work in these markets. We have become experts with an ever increasing and expanding knowledge of materials, processes, and techniques....

JBE’s ISO 9001 Certification

JBE’s ISO 9001 Certification

Jackson Bond Enterprises, LLC’s quality management system (QMS) has officially been certified as ISO 9001 compliant. For a small business like JBE, this is a big step forward towards growth. The certification provides the opportunity for JBE to grow by pursuing contracts and projects that require ISO 9001 certification. For those of you who may not be familiar with ISO 9001, it sets out the criteria for a quality management system and is the only standard in the ISO 9000 family that can be certified to. The standard is based on several principles including a strong customer focus, the motivation and implication of top management, the process approach, and continual improvement. Essentially it is a written set of processes and procedures that ensures that we say what we do, do what we say, and record it. A three person team comprised of Justin Bond, JP LaTourette and Sarah Shannon took on the task of developing, documenting, and implementing the quality management system at JBE. The team was dedicated and committed to the goal of certification and the success is a victory for the company. The whole JBE team survived the two stages of audits with zero findings and much praise from the certification auditor. The transition from not having a QMS to having a certified QMS, can be difficult due to the level of documentation required within the standard and because new procedures must be established. We are proud of the effort put forth by everyone at JBE who has worked hard to understand and seamlessly implement the system. This ISO 9001 certification is an addition to a growing list of changes for the company over the last two years. We’ve launched a new website and designed a logo, moved into a larger, more adaptable building, increased our customer base, attended our first trade show as an exhibitor, and have kept in place an amazing team who has adapted and evolved right along with the business. Jackson Bond Enterprises, LLC is poised for growth and development. We are mastering the manufacturing of our proprietary thermal protection systems, expanding our thermal seal production line, and continually diversifying the products we manufacture. With the arrival of 2016, Jackson Bond is entering its twelfth year in operation. There is so much more to come and we are excited for the opportunities on the horizon. Great job everyone; onward and upward. “When you’re finished changing, you’re finished.” Benjamin Franklin. Subscribe to our mailing...

JBE has a new building!

JBE has a new building!

Jackson Bond Enterprises is pleased to announce that we have leased a new building and have recently completed the move-in process. We are excited to be in our new facility and we wanted to share the news. Our new facility, located at 39 Industrial Park Drive in Dover NH, has 21,000 square feet of usable space, with manufacturing floor space divided into 3 bays. The center bay is a 40 ft. wide high-bay with 35 ft. ceiling clearance and features two, 15 ton bridge cranes. The building also includes two, 3 ton bridge cranes in one of the two adjacent bays. The new manufacturing facility gives JBE much needed space to expand our braiding, sewing, and cutting operations.  Additionally, we have added a dedicated cell for materials testing.  The overhead cranes, high ceilings, and wide bays enable us to fabricate large scale articles like our flexible thermal protection systems.  That means JBE can continue supporting scale-up of NASA’s HIAD program, a key technology in the path to landing larger payloads and eventually humans on Mars. With our eyes focused on development and expansion, we made some improvements to the building prior to moving in, to put it on the path to becoming a premier, state of the art, manufacturing facility. The first step was putting in all new energy efficient lighting throughout the manufacturing floor. This lighting, while not only being an energy efficient option, provides JBE with premier lighting for a productive manufacturing space. In addition, we brought in ISC Coatings, Inc. out of Gorham Maine, to put down an ECO Epoxy floor coating that makes the manufacturing floor itself durable, seamless, and attractive all while making facilities maintenance fast and easy. There are many additional improvements in the pipeline for our new space as we continue to modernize our business and expand our capabilities. All of us at JBE are excited about the new building and the opportunities it provides for our growing company. Check out our capabilities and contact JBE for all your innovative manufacturing and engineering needs today. Subscribe to our mailing...
